The gray matter in our head, the brain, the residence of our mind and our feelings. The brain speaks to our imagination, but what do we actually know about it? On Thursday evening 24 November, Moniek Beltman of the Brain Foundation will give a lecture in the Library in Olst.

Our brains are important in everything we do: from walking to remembering and from emotions to complex thought processes. Our brains make us who we are. But healthy brains don’t come naturally. People can be affected by all kinds of brain disorders.

Fortunately, everyone can do a lot themselves to promote brain health. A healthy and active lifestyle keeps the brain in good shape.

Moniek Beltman works for the Brain Foundation and gives an interactive lecture on this subject in the Library in Olst. Visitors are welcomed with coffee or tea from 7 pm. The lecture starts at 7.30 pm and is free of charge. If you want to be sure of a spot, it is advisable to book via www.bibliotheeksalland.nl/agenda.

The lecture will be held at the national campaign Nederland Leest with the theme ‘Getting old, staying young’. Throughout November there will be a photo exhibition about aging and staying young by Jean Nieuwenhuis in the library in Olst.
