The stretchable display – LG introduced a new screen technology

by time news

LG introduced a new 12-inch screen that offers durable flexibility while maintaining a high resolution, but unlike other flexible displays, including those that make it possible to produce the folding phones, LG’s new screen can be stretched, in the physical sense of the word of course.

The company’s display booth presented the new technology in a post that appeared on the company’s official blog. According to the company, the display can be stretched by approximately 20%, that is, from 12 to 14 inches, and it claims that this is the first screen of its kind, at least in the basic display size of 12 inches.

In addition, LG says that the screen can relatively compete with any display in other screens of its size. It offers full RGB support, a density of 100 pixels per inch, and an excellent spacing of 40 micrometers between pixels, with the pixels based on microLEDs.

This display, according to LG, can be easily attached to surfaces made of different materials and in extremely diverse shapes, from furniture to cars to a human hand while maintaining a clean display without any visible distortions.
