In this situation, terrorists launched a surprise attack on the army base in Qaib city yesterday evening. First they detonated 2 cars filled with explosives at the entrance of the army base.

The area shook as the bombs exploded with a loud bang. Following that, terrorists on motorcycles entered the army base and opened fire. Following this, the soldiers retaliated with their guns.

A fierce gunfight ensued between the two sides. The fight lasted for several hours. Army officials said that all 20 terrorists who stormed the army base were shot dead.

At the same time, they said that 10 soldiers were killed and many more were injured in the terrorist attack. Meanwhile, Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack and released a statement saying that 37 soldiers were killed in the attack and a large number of military weapons were seized.
