Puducherry: As the ‘lift’ of the housing board building is out of order, government employees and the general public are in dire straits.
Housing Board office in Puducherry Anna Nagar is functioning on the ground floor. Also here, the offices of the Rural Development Movement, District Rural Development Agency on the second floor and the offices of Science and Technology Environment Department, Pollution Control Group and Science and Technology Council are functioning on the third floor.
Lift facility has been provided to go to these five government offices which are operating on the upper floors.
Since this lift has been malfunctioning for the past ten days, not only the government employees but also the public who come to the offices with grievances are suffering.
Cardiovascular patients, pregnant women and elderly people going to the second and third floors are facing more difficulties.
Therefore, the authorities should take immediate action to repair the faulty ‘lift’.
