Microsoft has now made a feature available for Windows 11 that makes it easy to connect your iCloud to the Photos app on your PC.
The company said the iCloud for Windows app will be downloadable through the Microsoft Store as an additional update to the Photos app, and will be fully rolled out to Windows 11 users by the end of the month, according to a digitartlend report.
This feature will allow you to combine all your content from all sources, including your phone, camera, and various cloud storage options, such as iCloud Photos and OneDrive, and you will be able to see all your photos and videos in one gallery on Windows 11, and photos coming from iCloud will also be categorized within its own folder for easy identification.
To get the feature, make sure your Windows 11 Photos app is updated to the latest version, then install the iCloud for Windows app, all of which can be done in the Microsoft Store.
Then, sign in to your Apple account and sync your photos, this will send all the contents of your iCloud photos to your Windows Photos app.
iCloud integration isn’t the only Apple feature recently seen in Windows 11, and late last month Microsoft sent a preview version of Windows 11 to the Dev and Beta channels to test a feature similar to those seen on macOS and iPadOS, which allows you to turn your computer or tablet into Portable hotspot without having to involve your iPhone.
For Windows 11 preview, this functionality is being added to the Phone Link app already included in Microsoft’s software, the only catch is that it will only be compatible with a limited number of Samsung smartphones.
Microsoft also released the Windows 11 2022 Annual Update in September, which includes several professional and productivity features as a general theme, however, some recent brand announcements may point to more cross-platform compatibility as a theme going forward.
