Seven months after it was reported that the Oscar-winning actress will play former Prime Minister Golda Meir in Israeli director Guy Nativ’s film, tonight (Wednesday) the first image from the film’s filming was revealed.
The plot of the film, which is currently entering its second week of filming, will follow Meir during the Yom Kippur War in October 1973. Alongside Miran, the film will also feature actors Lior Ashkenazi as Chief of Staff David Elazar, Rami Weiberger as Defense Minister Moshe Dayan, Dvir Bendek as Chief Mother Eli Zeira and Rotem Keinan as the head of the Mossad, Zvi Zamir.

Nativ, who won the Academy Award for Best Short Film “Skin” in 2019, told News Here that “I have always been a big fan of the wonderful Helen Mirren, who was so brilliantly assimilated as Golda Meir with incredible talent, intelligence, depth and emotion. She does justice to the complexity. And the depth of this amazing woman. ” Miran, 76, won the Academy Award for Best Leading Actress in 2007, for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in the film “The Queen.”
