“The Crown” did not forget the secret of its success, and looked at us with the whites in its eyes

by time news

What a week it was. The government began to stand up in small steps, the hustle and bustle of the elections was somewhat forgotten, and just when we wanted some peace and sunshine, the inclement weather emerged that somehow surprised the traffic lights scattered throughout our country. A strong army, an iron dome, an amazing air force and quality television, and the first serious rain shuts us down for eight hours. I will never cease to be amazed by this. Happens. Let’s try to start a new page after the week we had, put aside the traffic jams, the difficulty of getting up in the morning when the floor feels like the North Pole, and the fact that we didn’t have a day off unlike last week, and take a short break for a traditional weekend binge. Phones on silent, we’re starting.

The Crown: The Crown

‘Crown’. The official reason for the plumbing since 2016, and the excuse for the psychic obsession we all have with the British royal house. Has anyone ever heard of other kings and it is so interesting with them? No matter, we have learned to love the exploits from the United Kingdom, and the truth is that there is an explanation for this – the working souls have really provided us with quite a few scandals. This week, after a tense wait, the fifth season aired, the first after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died last September at the age of 96.

This time, the series accompanies the days of the nineties in the monarchy, which some say is the most difficult decade the family has known. Bridging gaps: a fire at Windsor Castle in 1992, the dissolution of the relationship between Princess Diana and Prince Charles after he cheated on her with Camilla, the divorce of the two four years later, and the really big break – Diana’s death in a car accident after difficult days spent mentally In the golden cage in which she lives.

This season reminds us of some things that the royal family begged us to forget, mainly around Diana but not only. In 1995, two years before her death, she appeared in front of a BBC journalist and told everything that was in her heart about the marriage that fell apart before her eyes and the difficulty of containing what was happening. On the other hand, we see Charles building a new relationship on Diana’s back, and the attempt of Elizabeth and her surroundings to whitewash everything in the name of the milieu’s meticulous respect. And as if that’s not enough, Prince Andrew and Princess Anne are also stirring this season, the so-called – to wash the laundry of a paratrooper regiment before our wondering eyes.

It turns out that not only the viewers understand that there is a lot of entry into subtleties that do not add respect to those involved. John Major, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, decided to stop guarding Passon and said that one of the storylines in the season, the one related to him unsurprisingly, is disconnected from reality. Judge for yourself. What about the cast? He changed again, and you will probably recognize some familiar faces from American series that we have all seen. Salim Dao, who starred in his iconic role as Amjad’s father in ‘Arab Work’, also entered the list of actors this time, playing Mohammed Al Fayed, the father of Dodi Al Fayed who was Diana’s partner shortly before the end of her life.

In short, this season also maintains the high bar it has set for itself, it is interesting to the extreme, and introduces us once again with no zoom into the greatest secrets of the fascinating and shrouded in mystery palace. Maybe it’s because we all know what was there in the nineties, but now it feels much more real, and closer than ever to reality, however difficult it may be. Totally my cup of tea.

Closer: Closer

Apparently we Israelis were quite nostalgic this week. Why, you ask? Because the comedy drama from 2004 that we must have seen endlessly since then is in fifth place on the list of the most watched movies of the last few days. ‘Closer’, a film based on a play from 1997, follows Alice (Natalie Portman), a stripper for a living, when she is hit by a taxi while crossing a road. Dan (Jude Law), a British writer, comes to help her and the two get to know each other deeply and enter into a stormy relationship.

Cut to a year later. Dan is writing a novel about Alice’s life, and at the same time he meets Anna (Julia Roberts), an American photographer who has recently divorced, without her knowing that he is in a relationship of his own. After another year passes, Dan discovers Larry (Clive Owen), a dermatologist, in an unexpected place, and pretends to be Anna to get what he wants.

Sounds complicated, right? I’ll leave the rest to you, but come on, there’s nothing to hesitate when it comes to this avenue of stars and a movie that received a lot of love from the audience and rave reviews. In Israel, too, they lifted the heavy glove, and somewhere in 2012 and again in 2019, the film was released as a play. Sometimes you need a little cult in life, ‘Closer’ is a great example of that.

The Secret of the Greco Family: The Secret of the Greco Family

A seemingly normal Mexican family, even boring because it is banal, makes sure to live its life without apologizing; Not for the generous living conditions, not for the money, and certainly not for the high status she managed to create for herself in her living environment.

Some time later, it becomes clear that the members of the family manage to control their financial destiny with the help of a relatively simple action, at least in the television medium – they kidnap rich people and demand a ransom for them, and thus continue to maintain the successful and false enterprise they built.

It’s also interesting and completely heavy, but it’s still important that you know that everything is based on a true story. sounds strange? You haven’t seen anything yet.

Somebody Feed Phil: Somebody Feed Phil

Few of us will admit that we don’t enjoy series about food. Leave for a moment the side effects, such as the organized trips to the refrigerator during the commercials, and put aside the hunger that enters you for food that is not even within your radius late at night. Food makes every living thing happy, and that means there’s nothing more satisfying than the occasional culinary television.

If the name Phil Rosenthal is familiar to you, he is the creator of the legendary sitcom ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’. This time he really does not pose behind the camera but in front of it, and tours the countries that are the most fun to eat in, such as Thailand, Portugal, Mexico and many other good ones.

Colors, smells, a different culture, and a rather cool personality of Rosenthal, will make you feel as if you are on a guided tour but you really won’t have to leave the house and put on Pango. Warning: Do not take on an empty stomach. enjoy your meal.

Enola Holmes 2: Enola Holmes 2

In every family we meet in series or movies, for some reason there is a section where there is one successful brother and one, how to say, a little less so. In ‘Enola Holmes’ it is actually not accurate. The name is familiar to you and it is not by chance, the film series follows Enola, the sister of the famous Sherlock, with the long brown coat and the pipe, who is also trying to succeed in the detective world.

By the way, in the first movie she completely succeeded, and also made it interesting enough for us to follow a detective story that could very quickly become as interesting as last year’s Snow. In the second film however, the one that hit Netflix just this week, her journey on the road to yet another action-packed mystery conspiracy brought up the musty smell of an expired product.

I don’t want to declare the detectives as something out of the world, and period dramas can work without a doubt. Here that fun of the beginning was simply not restored, and everything was too exaggerated as if we were watching a detective thriller for the first time in our lives. In conclusion: 2022 is already here, please appreciate us, the viewers, a little more. Thanks.
