The Indian team, which was seen as a likely team to win the T20 World Cup, crashed out of the series after losing to England in the semi-finals. In this T20 World Cup, the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma was widely expected to win the trophy.
Although Bumrah and Jadeja did not play due to injury, the Indian team advanced to the semi-finals with 4 wins out of 5 matches in the Super 12 round.
