On the occasion of his 60th birthday: Hebrew Sabbath with the best works of Rami Kleinstein

by time news

When you think about the evolution that the Israeli soundtrack has undergone over the years, the name of Rami Kleinstein cannot be separated. This is due to his many works that became big hits and shaped the Hebrew singer. In honor of the 60th birthday of the acclaimed singer, composer, composer and musician, we have gathered the best sounds and chants released under his support.

Klinstein was born in New York, in the United States, and immigrated to Israel when he was only 8 years old. While still a high school student, Klinstein founded the band ‘Eclipse’ together with Yermi Kaplan. He spent his military service as the musical director of the military band ‘IDF 80’, in which he was also a member alongside Rita, who later became his wife, and the singers Shalva Reti and Hani Dinor.

In 1983, together with Yorick Ben David, Klinstein created the soundtrack for the film ‘The Interior’, and at the end of that year he composed most of the songs of the military band ‘IDF 84’. Klinstein’s work did not stop, and over the years he composed soundtracks for other films and songs, some of which even became hits like ‘All your wonders are not over yet’.

The great breakthrough of the beloved creator and singer came together with the collaboration between him and Rita in 1986, when he released his debut album – ‘On the Day of the Bomb’. The album is considered one of the musician’s most successful albums, and included Iron Sheep assets such as: ‘Rainy time’, ‘You sing on the radio’, ‘Esh’, ‘Shava’a’ in a duet with Rita, ‘Hanihi Li’ and many other good ones.

Also, Rita’s debut album mainly included songs composed and arranged by Kleinstein, the most prominent among them being none other than ‘Escape Path’, with which Rita reached fourth place in the pre-Eurovision competition that year. In Rita’s second album as well, Kleinstein was the main composer and arranger and he also included many hits, among them: ‘Enwrapped in mercy’, ‘The princess and the spirit’, ‘I live for me day by day’ and more.

In 1989, Kleinstein released his second album, On the Old Bridge, in which he used his writing talent for the first time. Two years later he published his third album ‘Ahabini’, with a joint credit with ‘The Council’. His fourth album, ‘At a party at Gido’, was released by Kleinstein in 1993, also in collaboration with ‘The Council’, and it contained songs, most of which had adult content.

Kleinstein’s most successful album is ‘Apples and Dates’, which he released in 1995 in collaboration with ‘The Council’. The theme song of the album won the title of ‘song of the year’ in the annual Hebrew hymn parade of the C network for that year. A year later, Klinstein published a compilation album, in his honor he recorded his own performance of the song ‘All your wonders are over yet’ and revised versions of the hits ‘On the Old Bridge’ and ‘Forever Young’.

In 1997, Kleinstein’s sixth album – ‘Whatever You Want’ was released, musically produced by Alon Hillel, and following its great success, the singer went on a particularly successful tour. In the early 2000s, Kleinstein embraced his seventh album ‘Say It’, in which you could see Eastern and Mediterranean influences, alongside Western dance arrangements. Also on this album, most of the songs were written by Kleinstein himself, including the theme song, which he performed in a duet with Rita.

Over the years, and even though they broke up as a couple, Rami and Rita teamed up for a joint show and conquered many big stages. The first time was in 2001, while only in the last year the two repeated the great success in another show. Throughout his career, Klinstein embraced other albums – ‘Exposed Song’, ‘Small Gifts’, ‘Good People’ and the compilation album ‘In the end everyone returns home’.

We at 103FM are happy to accompany the musician’s birthday and thank him for heart-expanding music and countless hits that will forever be the assets of Tsan Barzel in the Hebrew singer. We wish him and us many more years of exciting work and creation. Congratulations and happy listening!
