A serious incident at the North Base: A large amount of weapons and military ammunition was stolen tonight (Saturday) from an IDF base in the Golan Heights that was breached. Large army forces were dispatched to the scene and began searches.
The circumstances of the theft are being investigated by the investigating military police, and upon completion of the investigation, the findings will be forwarded to the military attorney’s office for examination. At the same time, information on the matter was passed on to the Israel Police and the Shin Bet, and the Israel Defense Forces opened an investigation.
An IDF spokesperson said: “Military ammunition was stolen from an IDF base in the north of the country. The circumstances of the theft are being investigated by the investigating military police, and upon completion of the investigation, the findings will be forwarded to the military attorney’s office for examination.”
