The United Nations against Israel: The International Court of Justice in The Hague will judge the ‘Israeli occupation’

by time news

The UN committee approved last night (Friday) the Palestinian proposal to turn to the International Court of Justice in The Hague, to receive an opinion on the ‘continued Israeli occupation’. In fact, the meaning of the decision is that the International Court will judge Israel.

The proposal was passed by the United Nations Special Committee on Politics and Decolonization with a majority of 98 countries that voted in favor, 17 that opposed and 52 that abstained. Among the countries that voted in favor can be found Belgium, Turkey, Brazil, Egypt, Ireland, Jordan, Morocco, Poland, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.

Canada, the United States, the Czech Republic, Germany, Australia, Austria and Italy were among the opponents. As mentioned, 52 countries were absent from the vote. Next month, the UN plenum will discuss a final approval of the issue.

Ambassador Erdan said in his speech before the vote that “the lies and hypocrisy of the Palestinians know no bounds: they are the ones who have rejected every peace initiative and peace plan since 1947 until today, and now they are using the excuse that the conflict has not been resolved to turn to the Hague Tribunal? This conflict was not resolved because of their support for terrorism, Because of their hatred and their refusal to peace. Now that the conflict will go to the court, the Palestinians will have a new excuse to boycott any dialogue, and perpetuate the conflict.”
