Madrid: Salto de Castro. A village in Spain. This village is located between Spain and Portugal. The village can be reached in a three-hour drive from Madrid, the capital of Spain. The village, which has 44 houses, a hostel, a church, a school and a swimming pool, is now up for sale. The price is 260,000 Euro. 2.1 crore in Indian value.

The story of the origin of this village is interesting. In the 1950s, a power generation company was engaged in the construction of a dam near this village. The company built houses here for the employees to stay and work. A school, a church, a swimming pool etc. were built for their needs. The company’s work continued for thirty years. After the entire work was completed, there was no longer any need for the staff to stay in the village. Everyone vacated the village and went to their hometowns. Thus, after 1980, the village was isolated.

In this context, in the early 2000s, someone bought the village with a view to turning it into a tourist destination. Meanwhile, with the economic crisis in Europe, he could not turn the village into a tourist destination as he wanted. So, he left the village as it was. At one point, he realized that there was nothing more he could do with the village and decided to sell it. He announced that the cost of the village was 6.5 million Euros (Rs. 54 crores). No one came forward to buy the isolated village without adequate facilities for that amount. In this case, he has now announced that he will sell the village for just 260,000 Euros (Rs. 2.1 crore). He has published an announcement in this regard on the real estate site of Spain. ‘I am a city dweller. I could not maintain that property. So I am selling it’, he posted in it.

300 people from different countries like Britain, France, Belgium, Russia have expressed their desire to buy this village. One of them paid the entire amount and booked to buy this village.

According to the real estate site, the village can be turned into a tourist attraction if an investment of 2 million Euros (Rs. 16.6 crores) is made.
