In the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, an emergency regime was introduced in connection with African swine fever (ASF). This was reported to the IA “Ura.ru” in the district administration.

On the territory of the district, emergency measures were taken to eliminate the focus of the disease. So far, the situation remains unchanged.

“The emergency regime allowed the region to take responsibility for using funds from the reserve fund, without an emergency regime, we could not use this money,” the authorities explained.

There are a number of settlements in the surveillance zone. Among them are the villages of Barsovo, Solnechny, Bely Yar, Yuganskaya Ob and the village of Saygatina, as well as Surgut.

On November 12, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko at a meeting of the antiepizootic commission said that this year there was an unfavorable situation with African swine fever, which threatens the effective development of animal husbandry and the maintenance of veterinary safety.

Following the meeting, Abramchenko instructed to create systems for responding to the risks of ASF spread at all levels and develop measures for constant veterinary control.
