Amichai and Hanan, are the nephews of Dr. Michael Ben Ari, who also tweeted on Twitter: “Lt. Col. Dr. Amichai Ben Ari, a hero of the Second Lebanon War, is retiring after four years as an army officer, and Hanan, the younger brother, arrives for a surprise him and the battalion. Grandpa Hanania is smiling from above.”
The Second Lebanon War: Medal of Honor for the MP who was removed and returned
The fighters of the company commanded by Amichai Ben Ari, during the Second Lebanon War, eliminated many terrorists and detonated hundreds of Katyusha rockets. Before entering the territory of Lebanon, Ben Ari demanded to receive intelligence data and receive information about rescue forces. The Brigadier replied to Ben-Ari, then an officer with the rank of captain, that he would receive solutions while on the move. Ben-Ari refused to carry out the task and claimed that these are things that must be solved before going into battle, and not during it.
Later, the Brigadier General decided to remove Ben Ari from his position, something that changed only thanks to the intervention of officers in the brigade, and finally Ben Ari was returned to his position. After the necessary solutions were found for the mission assigned to the company, the company entered Lebanon under the command of Ben Ari. The statements were published in Maariv in March 2007.
For this and for Ben Ari, he received a medal of distinction from the commander of the Northern Command ahead of Independence Day that year.
