Poland placed its military on heightened alert on Tuesday after being hit by what it described as a missile “most likely Russian-made”which left two dead and which could mark a major escalation of the conflict in Ukraine with the involvement of a NATO member.
Westerners have given their support to Poland in the wake of the Polish confirmation of this missile which fell in the south-east of the country, near the border with Ukraine, and on which weigh serious questions.
“It is unlikely from the trajectory that it was fired from Russia. But we’ll see.” said US President Joe Biden after an emergency meeting Wednesday of the leaders of the great powers of the G7 (United States, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Canada, Japan), in Indonesia, in sidelines of the G20 summit.
