Argentina World Cup squad changes coach, Romero out?

by time news

Doha: Coach Lionel Scaloni announced that there will be a change in the Argentina team ahead of the Qatar World Cup. The coach informed about this after some players did not prove their physical fitness.

Scaloni did not include the unfit players in the Argentina team for the friendly match against the UAE yesterday. Argentina won the match 5-0 but injuries to key players are causing concern in the team.

The fans are worried that Christian Romero will be out of the team. Romero did not make the squad for the match against UAE. Apart from Romero, strikers Nicolas Gonzalez, Alejandro Gomes and Paulo Dybala also did not participate in the match.

“I am not saying that all of them are out of the team. But some players have physical problems. That’s why they were dropped for the match against UAE. “If they had played, their injuries would have been serious,” Scaloni said during the press conference.

FIFA has given all countries permission to make changes to their squads up to 24 hours before the first match. Argentina’s first match in the World Cup is on November 22. The team’s opponent in Group C is Saudi Arabia.
