Mali: 14 people who worked with the Islamic State to carry out bombings in the Maldives were arrested. Counter-terrorism chief Uswat Ahmed said that the suspects were working with the Islamic State and had planned the attack with the aim of killing many people.

He said that last Friday, the suspects were arrested in three places in the country and 13 houses were raided. The former president of the country and the current parliament speaker, Mohammad Nasheed, was seriously injured in a bike bomb attack near his house last year.

Religious extremism has been on the rise in the Maldives in recent years. A suspect was arrested from the island of Mali in connection with the human bomb attack that killed thirty people in Pakistan in 2009. With this, it came out that Muslim terrorists are planning terrorist activities all over the world centered in the Maldives.
