New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that terrorism should not be associated with any religion.
The 3rd Ministerial Conference on Countering Terrorism Financing is being held in Delhi today and tomorrow (Nov 18 and 19). The theme of this conference is ‘No Money for Terrorism’. Speaking on this, Amit Shah said, “Terrorism should not be associated with any religion or any group.
Terrorists try different ways to do sabotage. They brainwash the youth into violence. They use the dark net to generate their required funds. Through this they deny their identity and sow violence.
There is no doubt that terrorism is a threat to international peace and security. But the financing of terrorism is even more dangerous than terrorism itself. Because it is from here that the way and methods of terrorism are laid. Apart from that, the financing of terrorism weakens the economy of the countries of the world. Likewise, terrorism should not be associated with any particular religion, nation or any group,” he said.
Source of funding should be distinguished: Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his opening address at the conference, said, “Terrorist attacks are to be condemned wherever they occur. Likewise, action is necessary against terrorism wherever it occurs.
India experienced its impact long before the world realized the grim face of terrorism. Terrorism, under different names and forms, has affected India at different times. We have lost thousands of lives to terrorism. Yet we have bravely fought terrorism. Even if it is just one attack, it is terrorism. Even if there is only one loss of life, it is a great loss. So we must not rest until terrorism is eradicated.
The long-term impact of terrorism reflects largely on the poor. Affects the local economy. No one wants to invest business in an area where there is always threat of terrorism. As a result, the livelihood of the people living in that area is affected. So we need to identify and eliminate the root cause of financing terrorism,” PM Modi asserted.
