Now, it seems that the successful comedian is back in the spotlight, this time following his opening monologue on the talk show “Saturday Night Live”, when he addressed the racist remarks of the rapper Kanye West. “I was in Hollywood, all I saw were Jews. You might think they rule the entertainment industry, but it’s absolutely crazy to say that out loud,’ he said.
The young actress Hanna Einbinder, the star of the series “The X” decided to go against the comedian and harshly criticized his words. “Chapelle’s monologue, which supposedly comes out against anti-Semitism, is anti-Semitic itself,” she wrote on the social network. She also added that there is a danger in every comedian thinking that emphasizing racist attitudes is actually freedom of expression.
“I invite everyone to reshape this narrative. These men, who cater to minorities, are thugs of the first order. This is not the job of a comedian,” she concluded Ainbinder.
