church music.

A rarity of vocal music can be experienced on tomorrow’s Eternal Sunday from 6 p.m. at a concert by the St. Petri-Schlosskantorei Chemnitz and the Ensemble Musica Sacra Chemnitz in the Chemnitz Petrikirche. In the church on the Schlossberg, under the direction of church music director Siegfried Petri, the extremely rarely performed Requiem in F minor by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, composed around 1692, can be heard, as well as Johann Ludwig Bach’s cantata “The sows with tears will reap with joy” and the setting of the “German Sayings of Life and Death” by Leonhard Lechner. Remaining tickets are available at the box office.
