In a segment of the interview broadcast tonight on Khan 11, Verdi asked the singer: “Shakira and Dua Lipa refused to participate in the events of this World Cup in Qatar because of Qatar’s problematic history with human rights, and people think – doesn’t Maluma have problems with human rights violations in this country?”.
The Colombian singer replied: “Yes, but it’s something I can’t solve, I came here to enjoy life, football, the football celebration. It’s not something I should be involved in. I’m here to enjoy my music, the beautiful life and football.”
When Vardi continued and claimed that “you can understand that people will say that by your very presence here you are helping to beautify…”, Maluma asked if he should answer the question, and after Moab insisted he stood up angrily and said: “Do I have to answer this question? You are insolent”, and left the interview in the middle.
