Energy sobriety: in the Vosges, this couple refuses to give up their Christmas lights

For Marie-Thérèse and René Marchand, the magic of Christmas is not an empty word. Since 1987, the date of the construction of their house in Valleroy-le-Sec (Vosges), not a month of December has passed without them making their garden and facade shine with a thousand lights. “At the time, I started by decorating the spruce with fake gifts, small handmade decorations and garlands with nuts,” explains this 63-year-old retiree.
