Chennai,- The Tamil Nadu government has ordered to extend the deadline of special public distribution scheme till March 2023, which will provide duvaram dal and palm oil at low prices in ration shops.

Tamil Nadu Government, ration shops free rice, wheat under public distribution scheme; 1 kg of sugar is also offered at Rs.25.

Under Special Public Distribution Scheme, 1 kg Duvaram dal, Rs.30; 1 liter of palm oil is sold at a low price of Rs 25.

The duration of the Special Public Distribution Scheme is extended from time to time by six months, one year. Accordingly, the deadline given for the scheme ended in September this year.

However, ration shops continue to supply pulses and palm oil.

The Tamil Nadu Consumer Goods Corporation recently wrote to the government to extend the deadline for the special public distribution scheme.

Subsequently, the government has extended the scheme for six months from October this year to March 2023.
