The panic on the cyber planet had been proportional to the dizzying list of 33,000 customers affected, including the American administration and several giants of the CAC 40. Hackers had succeeded in December 2020 in compromising the Orion software from the American firm SolarWinds, used for the management and supervision of computer networks of large companies or administrations. A massive hack that was quickly attributed to the Russian secret services who would also have taken advantage of it to infiltrate the sensitive computer systems of NATO, American ministries or the European Parliament.
