Explosion in negotiations between Smotritz and Netanyahu: “Likud has withdrawn”

by time news

The talks to form a right-wing government headed by Knesset member Binyamin Netanyahu are getting more and more complicated, even though yesterday Netanyahu and the chairman of the religious Zionist party, Knesset member Bezalel Smotrich, made progress and the meeting that took place last night hit the cards.

The religious Zionist party said tonight after another meeting between Netanyahu and Smutritz: “Unfortunately, Likud withdrew tonight from the conclusions reached last night and actually returned the negotiations to the starting point.” Sources in religious Zionism tell Kippah: “The Likud retracted both regarding the cases and the issues concerning the settlement in Judea and Samaria.”

Even in front of the chairman of the Otzma Yehudit party, Netanyahu encountered difficulties regarding the issue of the Ministry for Cracking the Negev and the Galilee, the chairman of Otzma Yehudit, Knesset member Itamar Ben Gabir, said this evening: “I insisted that Almog Cohen be on the list because he represents what is best in Israeli society, including the residents of the Negev and the Galilee – And it’s not just that we insist on this case. We have to invest there and without being able to sustain it, we simply won’t enter the government.”
