Beijing: Foxconn said in a statement that there was a violent incident at their company’s iPhone factory operating in China. Workers at the disputed factory have made various allegations. It started as a protest and escalated into violence.
Apple is selling technology devices worldwide. Foxconn is the main manufacturer of this company. Headquartered in Taiwan, the company has factories all over the world (including Chennai in India).
One of them is a factory operating in central China. It is said to be the biggest factory. It seems that around 2 lakh people are working. The employees also alleged about the wages paid here and the risk of corona infection. This trend seems to have continued there for the past one month. It is also reported that some of the employees escaped from there due to the bad environment.
In this situation, the employees, who could not tolerate the restrictions on them, went on strike. It also erupted violently. A video has also been released in this regard. In it, a large number of employees walk forward, while those dressed in white walk backward. The video gained worldwide attention. The incident took place this morning (Wednesday).
Further, ‘Employees have complained about wages and restrictions. Newly hired employees are not asked to work with employees who have confirmed corona infection. That is a completely false allegation. Foxconn said in a statement that the management will speak to the employees and the government to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.
