The cabinet had decided to increase the price of Milma milk by Rs.6 per liter in the state. Milma had asked the government to increase the price of milk by Rs 8,657 per liter. Following Milma’s request to increase the price, the government appointed a two-member committee to prepare a report on the matter. The committee collected information from dairy farmers and submitted a preliminary report. Dairy Development Minister J. Right after Chinchurani said, the government’s decision to increase Rs.6 came out. The minister told the media that the Milma milk price hike will be implemented from December 1. The price of related products will also increase. The recommendation of the expert committee appointed by MILMA was to raise the price of milk by Rs 8.57 per litre. It was decided to increase Rs 6 on the basis of the assessment that increasing such amount at once would lead to protests.
