The government appointed a two-member committee following Milma’s demand to raise prices.

The cabinet had decided to increase the price of Milma milk by Rs.6 per liter in the state. Milma had asked the government to increase the price of milk by Rs 8,657 per liter. Following Milma’s request to increase the price, the government appointed a two-member committee to prepare a report on the matter. The committee collected information from dairy farmers and submitted a preliminary report. Dairy Development Minister J. Right after Chinchurani said, the government’s decision to increase Rs.6 came out. The minister told the media that the Milma milk price hike will be implemented from December 1. The price of related products will also increase. The recommendation of the expert committee appointed by MILMA was to raise the price of milk by Rs 8.57 per litre. It was decided to increase Rs 6 on the basis of the assessment that increasing such amount at once would lead to protests.
Kufos has appointed Rosalind George as Acting VC
Acting Vice Chancellor of Kerala Fisheries University (KUFOS) Dr. M. Rosalind George was appointed by the Governor. Rosalind, a professor and faculty dean of the same university, is the wife of ousted VC Riji John. The appointment of Riji John as VC was canceled by the High Court. Riji John approached the Supreme Court against this but the order was not stayed. When Riji John’s lawyers pointed out that if the vice-chancellor’s post is vacant, the university administration will be affected, the court said that the government and the chancellor can make alternative arrangements for it. A bench headed by the Chief Justice had clarified that the appointment of someone else as VC would be subject to the final order of the Supreme Court.
