Did you keep your word? The principal of the school in Benjamin told the students: “If Argentina loses, you will get ice cream”

by time news

All the news broadcasts in the world yesterday (Tuesday) dealt with the loss of the Argentina team in the World Cup to Saudi Arabia | And in Benjamin – the principal of the school entered the classes that were watching the game and declared: ‘If Saudi Arabia wins – ice cream on me for the whole school.’ The children, of course, were mainly interested in the ice cream and less about the tax

Last night (Tuesday), the intriguing soccer match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia was held as part of the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar. But the game, which was held at noon, 12:00, attracted the attention of school principals across the country – and some of them allowed the game to be watched inside the classrooms.

This also happened at the Berashit school, the Mashalab, in Binyamina. The principal of the school, Yigal Shaver Shapira, even entered some of the classes that were watching the game on the classroom blackboard and a projector, and declared in front of everyone that if Argentina lost the game – which seemed unlikely – he would treat all the school’s students to ice cream.

The game is over. 2:1 to Saudi Arabia that stunned the world, one of the biggest sensations of the World Cup. And here, the students themselves asked, will the principal of the school keep his word?

And this is what they said this morning at the school: “This is an act of the principal who sat and watched the Argentina-Saudi Arabia World Cup match with his students, and in the spirit of competition and turmoil made a promise –
‘If Saudi Arabia wins – ice cream on me for the whole school’ and from the moment the words went out into the air, a surge of enthusiastic supporters – some of whom have no idea about football – joined in enthusiastic support for Saudi Arabia.

“This is an act of the manager, who anxiously watched the game and realized that his promise was likely to come true… in front of his anxious eyes, and in the eyes of Messi’s angry and disappointed fans – Argentina lost.
An act of a manager who knew how to take responsibility, implement his promise and teach his students and staff important lessons for life…forever, not to underestimate the opponent, and to know how to take responsibility for one’s words. And most of all… That ice cream is not child’s play.”

Today (as mentioned) the ice cream was distributed to the crowd of satisfied students at the school. The head of the council Itai Weisberg also joined in the words of praise for the director: “Promises need to be fulfilled and children all the more so. Well done Yigal Shabar Shapira. The next ice cream is on me,” concluded Weisberg with a smile.
