An anonymous letter claiming responsibility for the Mangaluru blast is circulating on social media. A letter on the letterhead of the Islamic Resistance Council claimed responsibility for the blast. The letter, in English, said the blast was a retaliatory response to mass killings. The letter also said that there was a plan to attack the famous temple of Kadri in Mangaluru. The police started investigating the authenticity of the letter. The police sought the help of central agencies including the NIA. The investigation is focused on whether any organization is working under the name of Islamic Resistance Council and whether the circulated letter is authentic.
