Newton’s ‘Family’ featured in Rotterdam International Film Festival

Kochi: Newton’s ‘Family’ has been featured in the 52nd Rotterdam International Film Festival. The film festival will be held in the Netherlands from January 26 to February 6. Directed by Don Palathara, the film stars Vinay Fort, Divya Prabha, Nilja K. and Baby are playing the central characters. The film is produced by Sanita Chittilappilly under the banner of Newton Cinema.

‘Family’, Don Palathara’s sixth film, deals with how crimes in families are expertly managed within them like a mafia. The film also raises the question of how religion and family have come into conflict with each other.

‘We have tried to portray on screen the contrast between the visual beauty of Madhya Kerala and the lives of the characters in the film. The film is expected to give a different cinematic experience. I am indebted to my producer Newton Cinema and all my colleagues who have been with me to make this film a reality. The film was approved by the IFF. Don Palathara, the writer, director and editor of the film responded to related questions after selecting the film for the festival.

‘Family’ is a film that Don Palatharak is very close to personally. That’s why the film is so creative and honest’ – Vinay Fort, who played the central character in the film, responded.

Sanita Chittilappilly, the producer of the film commented that it was a pleasure to start the screening of the film through IFFR and it was an unforgettable experience to work with Don, who makes bold and creative films at the same time. The film is co-written by Sherin Catherine and cinematography by Jaleel Badusha.
