A lawyer faces nine months in prison for falsifying a document in a trial in Astorga

A lawyer sits this Thursday on the bench in the Provincial Court of León, accused of falsifying a document to win a trial in Astorga. The events occurred in 2015, at which time a lawsuit was filed by the Court of First Instance of Astorga to bring an action denying the easement.

The defendant submitted a response in which it was stated that the easement “should be understood to have been acquired by prescription over the course of 20 years”, justifying it with the contribution of the inspection document of the individual gas reception facility (IRI). But he altered the date of completion, substituting the correct date 03/26/03 for 03/26/93, trying to make believe that the aforementioned 20 years of possession had elapsed for the acquisition by prescription of the easement, but this was not the case. Realizing this, the document was presented “because it could be the facts constituting a criminal offense”

They ask for the defendant nine months in prison, the disqualification from his position during said period and a fine of 2,700 euros.
