A short time ago, the Middle East Championship IRONMAN Israel Middle East Championship was launched, which takes place in the city of Tiberias, with the participation of 2,500 competitors, including 800 international competitors from 58 countries. Just before the start, the competitors celebrated the “International Day of the Fight Against Violence against Women” so that all the participants made the X movement with their hands. The most challenging competition in the world is initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the businessman and philanthropist Sylvan Adams and the Comtech Group in collaboration with the Tiberias Municipality, the Jordan Valley Regional Council and the Triathlon Association.
This is the first time that the full distance competition of the international IRONMAN brand is held in the Middle East and 75 places will be awarded to the 2023 World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. The updated route maps are given find on the site.
The “IRONMAN” competition consists of three parts: swimming, cycling and running. The triathlon is held non-stop when the participants have a limited time to finish each of the segments of the competition and a total roof time to finish it, therefore it challenges the limit of human ability, physically and mentally.
Comtech Group, in partnership with Sylvan Adams and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, are behind bringing major sporting events to Israel, including: the Giro d’Italia race, the Eurosket, the Grand Slam judo competition, the soccer games – the French Super Cup and Argentina – Uruguay, initiates and produces the competition in Israel .
As part of the IRONMAN event in Tiberias, two races will be held:
– A full IRONMAN race that will include a 3.8 km swim in the Sea of Galilee, a 180 km bike ride and a 42.2 km marathon run.
– IRONMAN 70.3 race that will include 1.8 km swimming in the Sea of Galilee, 90 km cycling and 21.1 running.
