Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who gave the world films like Swayamvaram, Kodiyetam, Elipatthayam, Mukhamukham, Anantaram, Walls, Syaarhan, Kathapurushan, Nizhalkuth, Nalu Penna, Yora Penna and Doanan, and again, was felicitated at the event.

Swayamvaram was screened in the afternoon. His first film Swayamvaram was released on 24 November 1972. It depicted the uncertain life of the young and the educated.
Adoor is the only Malayalam filmmaker to win the Dadasahib Phalke Award, the highest award in Indian cinema.
Eminent people’s articles were included in the event. The books ‘Swayamvaram –- Adoor and Anuvachakaran’ by Chandrasekhar and Girish Balakrishnan and ‘The Body of Cinema’ by John Samuel were published.
Madhu (Vishvam) and Sharada (Seetha) were the heroines in director Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s first film Swayamvaram. They are acting in this film as two mainstream stars of that time. The film is now a classic in Indian cinema.
Director Madhu Iravankara has produced a documentary to mark the film’s golden jubilee. The plot revolves around the film journey of the director and the movie Swayamvaram.
