1. Coca-Cola Cup: Coca-Cola, which is still a popular soft drink company, sponsored the tri-series held in Sharjah in 1998. Sachin Tendulkar’s back-to-back centuries in the series saw India beat New Zealand and Australia.

But for that historic victory, the cap on the top of the Coca-Cola soda bottle was made as the trophy and gifted to captain Mohammad Azharuddin, the Indian fans will never forget.

2. Biscuit cup: In 2018, a biscuit company called TUC sponsored a series between Pakistan and Australia in Dubai.

The trophy was designed to have the company’s giant biscuit on top instead of bales on the stumps, with fans quipping that it was the best trophy in history.

3. Snake Cup: A few months ago, the young Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan won the 3-match ODI series in West Indies by 3-0.

The trophy was awarded to India with a glass ball in the middle reflecting the first English letter “S” of the company sponsoring the series. But the fans teased that the winner was gifted with a snake as it looked like a snake.

4. Poor Design: The historic Border – Gavaskar Cup was held for the first time in 1996. Sachin Tendulkar-led India defeated Australia in the series at home.
It was presented with a trophy designed to look like a silver ball on top of a plain wooden board which created a lot of teasing and then a special trophy was designed and is now being presented.
5. Janshakti Trophy: Sri Lanka, who whitewashed South Africa in the last ODI series held in 2004, were gifted a trophy with a different design.
Captain Jayawardene, who took it in hand, posed with a smiling face in confusion as to how he was going to make it stand. Because there was a huge ball in the second of that cup.
6. DLF Cup: In the last 2006 India-Pakistan ODI cricket series ended in a draw, both Rahul Dravid and Inzamam posed with difficulty lifting the trophy given to them.

7. Kavariman Cup: England whitewash won the Test series held in Sri Lanka in 2021. Captain Joe Root was presented with a trophy designed to look like a stag’s antlers on top of the trophy to reflect his sponsorship company, the Moose. His funny pose with it back on his head is unforgettable.
