A 52-year-old ultra-Orthodox woman was tragically found lifeless on Carlton Street in Monsey, after disappearing hours earlier.

According to the report in ‘Monsey Scoop’, Mrs. Miriam Sussman A.H. disappeared around 4:45 PM on Sunday and was found by a volunteer of the Friends of Rockland County only around 1 AM (Monday).

Rockland County Rescue volunteers arrived on the scene after her body was found on the side of the road, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do. It seems that Ms. Zussman was hit by a passing vehicle that fled without calling for help, or did not notice that it had hit a woman, the Yeshiva world news website reported.

Police forces are currently on the scene and conducting an investigation, volunteers from the Friends organization are checking security cameras in the area, to help the police determine how the tragedy occurred. The organization ‘Matashiim’ and the organization ‘Chesed Shel Emet’ are there to ensure the honor of the deceased.
