The director of an association from Jerusalem is suspected of missing NIS 3 million in revenue

About a week after Tamir Shafer, a psychologist who runs an association called “Chen, Hesed and Mercy”, was arrested and released under restrictive conditions on suspicion of embezzling income from the association, the manager of another association from Jerusalem is suspected of similar acts. Yosef Yitzhak Adrei, director of the “Shlvat Haim” association, is suspected of embezzling more than 3 million NIS from the association’s funds.

From Adrai’s investigation, conducted by the Jerusalem and South Investigations Assessor, it is suspected that in the years 2015-2022, when he was authorized to sign for the association, he wrote checks for various amounts, cashed them in change and used the cash for his personal needs. The investigation also shows that over the years he withdrew amounts from the association’s bank account in the US and used them for his personal needs.

Adrai, defined as a salaried employee of the association, is suspected of offenses according to the Income Tax Ordinance, because he did not report to the tax authorities the funds he pocketed as private income. The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court released him under restrictive conditions and his investigation continues.
