LED lights cause diabetes..? Shocking study..!

by time news

Diabetes is not only due to one’s mistakes, now many reasons are starting to come. However, we are also indirectly responsible for all these. Neon-lit billboards on roads, malls, laser beams in amusement parks, and flashing LED lights in buildings multiply the risk of diabetes, a new study suggests.

According to research, artificial outdoor light (LAN) at night can easily affect the functions of hormones in the body. This increases the risk of diabetes. In diabetes, blood sugar levels become too high. Due to this, the pressure on vital organs like kidney and heart increases. Due to this many problems start.

Circadian rhythm changes:

According to the Indian Express, researchers from Jiaotong University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China, have underlined the relationship between LAN and diabetes risk in their study. A study found that artificially brightening sky lights increased the incidence of diabetes.

The functions of hormones in the body of a person who is highly affected by LAN lights change. This causes melatonin and corticosterone to work differently to help you fall asleep and wake up in the morning. This causes the circadian rhythm to deteriorate. As a result, the production of sugar in the body increases. Studies have shown that exposure to neon or LED light at night slows down the metabolism of glucose.

This means that the dominance of LED lights at night is greater than that of ordinary people. Especially in places like offices and malls, bras are a little extra for beauty. The study found that people who live in such an environment are 28 percent more likely to develop diabetes. This means that the body does not know the difference between night and day due to LED lights, so the cortisol that is secreted during the day is also secreted at night. This increases the sugar level.

A surprising fact found in the study was that the higher the exposure to bright lights, the higher the BMI of those people. Even if they are physically active, they are at risk of developing diabetes. The study was recently published in Diabetologia, the journal of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes.

In fact, our body clock works according to a daily rhythm. Accordingly, when it is dark, the production of melatonin increases, due to which we feel sleepy. In the morning, with the light, the cortisol hormone from the pituitary gland wakes us up. Due to high cortisol hormone in the morning, sugar production is high. Due to this we are more physically active in the morning. But when we are exposed to bright light at night, the hormone melatonin is suppressed while cortisol dominates, promoting the formation of more sugar.
