Two hubs (HUBs) on Gilat’s SkyEdge II-c platform and hundreds of stationary and mobile VSAT terminals will be installed to upgrade the satellite connectivity that Comlabs provides to its government customers and nuclear facilities in the USA. These will support Comlabs’ existing technologies and allow very high connectivity and availability for emergencies, and the distribution of Alert and warning messages to the public.

“Comlabs’ systems and networks enable critical connectivity for hundreds of government agencies that rely on our technology to transmit alerts to the public. This connectivity must be reliable and available in real time. Therefore, it is important that we only work with the best and most reliable technology available on the market,” he said Roland Lucier President of Comlabs. “We chose Gilat due to its expertise and the efficiency of its satellite solution, as well as in light of its extensive knowledge of the market and its excellent reputation. The research we performed determined that Gilat’s SkyEdge II-c platform is the best on the market. We look forward to teaming up with Gilat to serve our customers’ needs.”

“This project is another significant step for Gilat in the US government market. We are very pleased with the choice of Comlabs and are excited about our partnership,” said Selva Prater, VP of North America at Gilat. “Gilat’s ground equipment solutions have proven to be effective and ideally suited to the critical missions of government organizations. We are proud to support critical infrastructure facilities across the US.”

Gilat shares fell by 6.5% since the beginning of the year to a price of NIS 21, which represents a market value of NIS 1.19 billion.
