As you may remember, Sivan Behanem broke into consciousness with the Tackett family’s innovation of the song “Flowers in the Cane”, and was part of the independent record company founded by her friends, Subliminal and The Shadow. She started her career as a backing singer for the Tackett family, and in 2011 she announced her retirement.
After Subliminal and the Shadow’s famous forgiveness, they announced a reunion and a joint performance at Hichal Menorah, where they will appear on the same stage together with the Tackett family. However, despite the enthusiasm and excitement of the fans who were waiting for the long-awaited reunion, Sivan revealed that despite all the noise, her role in the highly publicized show will be “on a guest basis” only.
“In the last two weeks, I have been receiving messages in quantities that cannot be contained and digested,” she shared. “People stop me in the street and ask excitedly if I’m also participating in the Menorah show – because they don’t see my picture and name in the publications. I answered everyone with a half-smile: ‘With God’s help,’ because alongside these exciting days, these were also days of a lot of confusion, questions and thoughts.”
Sion said that despite the expectations, “the promoters of the show kindly informed me that my role in the show is above the standard of a guest”. She was disappointed, and felt that it was “strange to be a guest, in a place that should be home, among my family”. She also added that this decision also did not suit her on the professional level. And so – she decided to give up her participation in the performance at Menorah. Now, as mentioned, it seems that understandings have been reached between the parties and she will take the stage at the union show.
