A female nurse has died and another has been seriously injured in an accident that took place this morning at Kumpurupitti area of Pulmottai main road, Trincomalee.
Geetanjana Devi (44 years old) working at Kuchaveli Hospital in Nilaveli area died in this way.
It is understood that the accident took place when a motor vehicle and a container vehicle collided.
Accident while on duty
The accident occurred when the nurse and the teacher were on their way to duty. His sister, the teacher, who was traveling in the motorcade with the nurse, was seriously injured.
The said teacher was admitted to Kuchaveli District Hospital and has been shifted to Trincomalee General Hospital for further treatment.
The Kuchaveli police are conducting investigations into the accident.
