Karaikal: A seminar was held on Wednesday to explain GST to Karaikal traders.
The 4th seminar on GST and Central Excise Commission (Puducherry) was held at Karaikal on Wednesday. Puducherry Commissioner N. Padma Shri participated as special invitee. Karaikal area Chamber of Commerce administrators and businessmen also participated. Since the implementation of GST till now, the measures which have been improved have been explained, which items and the amount of tax.
In the meeting, the businessmen who participated put forward various demands, including simplifying the procedure for payment of GST amount, employing Tamil language speakers in the office. Due awareness will be created among the traders by the authorities. Steps will be taken to simplify GST payment procedures. A WhatsApp group will soon be established to integrate Vattakas and others. Officials said that grievances can be reported.
In the seminar, Additional Commissioner of Central Excise Sanjeev Patnag, Assistant Commissioners Narendra Pal, K. Ramesh, B.Krishna Rao participated. Senior Accounts Auditor Ganapathisubramanian, Chamber of Commerce President Shanthakumar and others participated.
