While most phone manufacturers are already well geared towards their announcements of phones with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, ZTE decided to launch next week a new phone that is still based on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, not even the +8 version, but still quite impressive when you consider the His details – at least on paper.

This is the Axon 40 Ultra Space Edition, a new flagship phone that offers an updated version of the company’s current flagship phone, the Axon 40 Ultra, and it will offer a version with no less than 18 gigabytes of working memory alongside 1 terabyte of built-in storage memory – although There will be another version of 12/512 gigabytes of memory. There’s also a dedicated security chip that ZTE developed in-house, which is the same as the one in the Ultra, and according to ZTE it has since gone through a series of international authorizations.

In addition, the glass back incorporated in the Axon 40 Ultra has been replaced with a ceramic roof, and there is also a change in the design of the camera protrusion, and it flows more smoothly into the back, while also being less prominent according to the company. On the back there are three 64 megapixel cameras, two of them with a Sony IMX787 sensor – one for wide-angle shots – and the third a telephoto camera with an optical zoom of up to x5.7 and with an optical image stabilizer.

The AMOLED screen is 6.8 inches in size and offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz in QHD+ resolution with a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits. The selfie camera is under the screen and is equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor. The battery has a working capacity of 5,000 milliampere/hour with charging at a maximum power of 80 watts.

The operating system is Android 12 on top of MyOS 12.0 and the price at launch will be about $825 for the model with 12/512 gigabytes of memory, and about $1,075 for the model with the larger memory.
