Centre asks FM radio channels not to play songs glorifying drugs- Dinamani

The central government has warned radio stations not to broadcast songs exaggerating alcohol, drugs, weapons and gun culture.

The Union Ministry of Telecommunication has issued a notification in this regard.

The notification said: Radio stations must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions set out in the Grant of Permission Agreement and the Overseas Grant of Permission Agreement. According to these agreements, no matter involving violence should be broadcast on radio. It has been said that those radio stations will face legal action if they violate these norms.

It is to be noted that this warning has been issued by the Ministry of Telecommunication after radio stations aired songs exaggerating alcohol, drugs, weapons and gun culture.
