Farm corruption issue – Crisis for South African President Cyril Ramaphosa

Cyril Ramaphosa (70) is the President of South Africa. The ‘Farmgate’ farm corruption case against him has come to light. It has been alleged that he misused his position to cover up the theft of $4 million (about Rs.32 crore) from his farmhouse.

An independent panel probed the scandal and its report was leaked. This report has been submitted to Parliament.

In this regard, Parliament will investigate and decide next week whether to impeach President Cyril Ramaphosa or not. Therefore, there is a crisis in his position. Complaints have been raised that this money was collected by him through corruption. But President Cyril Ramaphosa has denied this.
