Washington: US President Joe Biden has said he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Joe Biden said, “If Russian President Putin is really looking for a way to end Russia’s war on Ukraine, I’m ready to meet him.” But he added that Putin was not looking for that. At the same time, they assured that the US and France would continue to support Ukraine against Russia.

Following this, Emmanuel Macron said that we will not force Ukraine to reconcile with Russia. Macron said that they will not accept it.

Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani told reporters last Friday, “The time has come for peace in Ukraine. However, Ukraine’s independence is very important. Italy does not want peace by surrendering to Russia. Instead of throwing bombs at Ukraine, Russia should show a firm signal of peace.”

Russia has expressed its position on US President Joe Biden’s comments. Speaking to reporters in the Russian capital Moscow, Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “The United States says there is a chance for reconciliation talks. At the same time, it has made it a condition that Russian forces leave Ukraine first. This condition Russia will never accept.”

In addition, the United States has not yet recognized the new territories annexed by Russia. The United States claims that Russia illegally claims those areas. Therefore, in such an environment, there is no chance for reconciliation talks,” he said.
