by time news

Kochi: A vigilance inquiry has been ordered against singer MG Sreekumar for violating the Coastal Management Act. The Vatupuzha Vigilance Court ordered the investigation. The case is that the building was constructed in violation of the Coastal Management Act.

The complaint is that an old building was demolished near Bolgatti Palace in Kochi and a house was constructed in violation of the coastal protection rules. Earlier there was a legal advice of the Additional Director of Vigilance that there was no need for a vigilance investigation.

The legal advice was that the case should be heard by the LSGD Tribunal, which deals with violations of laws under local self-government bodies. A petition was filed in Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court questioning this legal advice. This is the order of the court now.
