Islamabad,

Pakistan is facing severe economic crisis. In particular, the recent heavy rains and floods have taken a heavy toll on Pakistan. The International Monetary Fund has offered to provide financial assistance and loans to the country.

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund is not satisfied with Pakistan’s revenue and expenditure plan. Following this, the International Monetary Fund sought additional information from the Pakistani government. Pakistan has asked the government for details on the revenue shortfall.

The demands come amid frustration from the Pakistani government. Also, the last meeting between IMF-Pakistani officials did not go well.

In this situation, the government of Pakistan has expressed its displeasure with the International Monetary Fund. In this regard, the country’s Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar said in a recent interview:-

Pakistan did not beg the International Monetary Fund for a loan. The IMF cannot dictate regulations to Pakistan on how to manage the fund.

Even if the money doesn’t come, we will manage. Although not providing funds, Pakistan is unconcerned. But he said that the government cannot burden the people by increasing the price of petroleum products.
