MK Dichter Elected to Member of the IPU

MK Avi Dichter (Likud) was elected today (Tuesday) by secret ballot by representatives from 32 countries around the world, to serve as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Committee on the War on Terror.

After the election, MK Dichter said: “I am proud to take part in explaining the security policy of the State of Israel in the international arena. “My choice by the nations of the world is another recognition of our long war on terror and another step in our national information struggle.”

The Inter-Parliamentary Union’s Counter-Terrorism Committee convenes twice a year to discuss terrorist incidents taking place around the world and common ways of combating them. Its members are representatives from the houses of parliament of Austria, Kenya, Rwanda, Bahrain, Egypt, China, Pakistan, Thailand, Switzerland and more.
