The Taliban has ordered the suspension of all shows featuring women on television channels across the country. Accordingly, the channels will stop broadcasting plays, serials and other programs in which women appear as actors. In addition, the government’s guidelines for the Afghan media state that women journalists must wear the hijab when covering news. It has also been suggested that programs that insult Islam should not be aired. The announcement was made to the media on Sunday. At the same time, Taliban Minister Hakeef Mohajir said the new announcements were not laws but religious guidelines. When the Taliban came to power in 1996-2001, TV channels, music and movies were banned from entertainment. The only radio station operating at the time was Voice of Sharia. Following the end of the Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001, a number of new television channels and radio stations were established in the country. Television programs from other countries were also broadcast on these channels. But when the Taliban came to power again, they were banned. Currently, only a handful of channels are operating under the strict control of the Taliban.

Doctor abducted and killed in Afghanistan

Kabul: The body of a doctor who was abducted two months ago in northern Afghanistan has been found abandoned on the streets. Mohammed Nader Alemi, a psychiatrist at a government hospital in Mazar-e-Sharif, has been kidnapped for $ 7 million.
