Riyadh: The Second International Philosophy Conference, which will discuss important issues related to philosophy and explorations related to space phenomena, has started in Riyadh.

The three-day conference focusing on space philosophy is organized under the theme ‘Knowledge and Exploration: Space, Time and Humanity’. Speakers from more than 19 countries of the world including US, UK, UAE, Mexico, Singapore, Italy, Germany and Egypt are participating in the conference.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Literary, Publishing and Translation Commission of the Saudi Ministry of Culture Dr. Saad Al Basi inaugurated the conference. He said that he was proud to welcome those from the nations of the world interested in exploring the yet unchartered realms of space to participate in the conference. “This conference is a platform that will provide an interesting avenue for intellectual inquiry. It is broad enough to accommodate ideas. Our theme is formed from a philosophical understanding of humanity. We look forward to seeing how this idea and discussions develop in the coming days,” said Dr. Bassee.

Special adviser to the CEO of the Saudi Space Commission and Vice President of the Diversity and International Astronautical Federation, Mishal Alshamimri put forward ‘What preparations should we make for planetary migration?’ The first day’s discussion was about the concept of They noted that the potential of migration to planets like Mars needs to be explored and researched in the context of the threats that life on Earth poses to humanity. They spoke about the importance of discovering new planets and the practical challenges involved.

They also suggested that a planetary transition would increase the survival of the human race. A session based on the theme ‘Tomorrow’s Philosophers’, a debate competition on ‘Verses Between Readings’, and the inauguration of a philosophical camp will be held in the coming days.
